[House] Our Home

The house we live in is in Åsnorrbodarna in central Sweden. It is an old school house, built in 1930. The lot is one acre, which provides plenty of exercise through clearing snow, raking leaves, and mowing grass.

The only neighbours in sight are a nice elderly couple across the road. The rest of the hamlet, fifteen or so houses, aren't visible from home. The village road is a private road with very little traffic. Certain times of the year, there are more farm tractors than cars passing by. There are also one or two trot horses going by each day, in training.

[Driveway] In winter, snowmobile jerks are a major nuisance. They care nothing about laws or common sense, but drive straight over my property only a few yards from the house. Apart from the damage they cause to the ground, they are extremely annoying, especially when they come howling past in the middle of the night.

Åsnorrbodarna is surrounded by vast woods with lots of wildlife. I have had moose, deer, and fox on my lot and there is bear and lynx in the area. Sometimes we even get visits from wolves.

The hamlet is at N62°9′ E17°11′, which is about 40 km (25 miles) south-west of Sundsvall. That translates into something like 35 minutes commuting to work.
